Customer satisfaction is only part of the picture

Customer feedback, journey maps and NPS help you identify where experiences fall short. But understanding frustration does not give you the full picture of why people choose your business.

What attracts a prospective customer? What makes changing providers feel risky? What keeps someone with a competitor, even when a better option exists? These questions matter to acquisition and retention. Without them, a CX programme can deliver higher satisfaction while leaving important opportunities for growth unexplored.

The Elemental CX Diagnostic helps you assess whether your programme is equipped to address that gap.

Find out where your CX effort will have the most impact

Whether you are developing your CX foundations or reviewing an established programme, the assessment gives you a clearer basis for deciding where to focus your people, time and investment. It looks at three areas:

  • CX capability: How well developed are your customer insights, CX practices and measures of performance?
  • Growth mandate: Does CX have the remit, support and resources to influence customer choice and contribute to growth?
  • Causal readiness: How clearly do you understand the forces that attract customers, push them away and prevent them from switching?

Results that help you decide what comes next

Your results are available on screen immediately after you complete the assessment. They include:

  • Your CX position: Building the Basics, Operational, Aspiring or Advanced.
  • Three diagnostic scores: An assessment of your capability, growth mandate and causal readiness.
  • Personalised recommendations: Guidance that identifies your main constraint and suggests priorities for the next 12–18 months.
  • A downloadable report: An optional PDF to share with colleagues and support planning discussions.

Your recommendations reflect how you answered, rather than your overall score alone. Organisations with similar scores may need different next steps, particularly where stronger foundations are needed before expanding CX’s role.

Connect customer understanding with commercial decisions

Elemental Concept’s Elemental CX approach draws on Jobs to Be Done and the four forces that influence customer decisions: push, pull, anxiety and habit. It helps organisations understand the progress customers are trying to make, why they consider alternatives and what stands in the way of change.

When further work is useful, we combine customer research with a performance framework and a prioritised roadmap. This helps teams direct investment towards experiences that influence choice, and test significant ideas with customers before committing capital.

The diagnostic is a practical first step. It gives you a report you can use independently, with the option to explore the findings with our team.
